In Secure Bay we take Secure and Private communication very seriously. Call and Chat features are only possible between Secure Bay users. This is necesary in order to protect the communication at all times.

Best Privacy is when you don't share your identity!!! Nowadays privacy is a major issue in Internet. Secure Bay is designed so we don't request any information from the users, no mobile number, no email, nothing. But, hey! How is that possible? Well, very simple, once Secure Bay is installed, upon app start, you will be provided with a Bay Number. The Bay Number is generated at the time the application is started for the first time. The Bay Number is not associated to any data in Secure Bay servers, no logs, no trace. Once a communication is finished, call or a chat message, any trace of that communication is erased.

Voice Communication is protected with HTTPS/TLS/SRTP/ZRTP protocols. Once the call is connected, Secure Bay initiates ZRTP to enable All-The-Way encryption. Secure Bay ensures protection against man-in-the-middle attack.

The Chat service is using 3 layers of encryption to ensure Private and Secure Chat. All the information is traversing Internet over HTTPS, this being the first layer of encryption. Secure Bay app communicates with the Backend with a Bay Message, which contains: To-Address, From-Address and Chat Message. The Bay Message is encrypted, and it is the second layer of encryption. The Bay Message is decrypted in the Backend so it knows where to send the Chat Message. The Chat Message within the Bay message is all-the-way encrypted, never decrypted in the Backend, and it is the third layer of encryption.
